The committees of the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce are the basis for getting activities accomplished. The following is a description of these committees and what they're working on:
Board of Directors
- Manages issues impacting business and the community
- Develops plan of work for Chamber
- Meets monthly to monitor Chamber's activities
- Develops policy of the Chamber
Division of Convention & Visitors Bureau
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Consistent with the goals of the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce, the mission of the Convention Visitors Bureau is to enhance the economic well being of the City of Mitchell and its surrounding area.
GOALS: To promote and attract visitors to Mitchell by means of conventions, conferences, meetings, athletic and special events. Develop and implement plans to promote Mitchell as a tourism area through individual leisure travel and motorcoach development.

APPLICATION | CRITERIA AND ACCEPTABLE USES
Division of Tourism and Concessions
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: To develop additional tourism through the marketing, advertising, and promotion of the Corn Palace and other Mitchell attractions. Oversee the concessions business on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce.
Regional Marketing
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: To market the retail, professional and hospitality services of the Mitchell community to its regional trade area.
GOALS: To fund in-state regional marketing, promotion and advertising of the City of Mitchell to its regional trade area.

APPLICATION
Agri-business Committee
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: To establish better agriculture/business relations, thus enhancing the image and economy of business in Mitchell. To recognize and reveal to our local businesses the impact of agriculture on the Mitchell economy.
GOALS: To promote agriculture/business relations. Major projects: DakotaFest, Women's Brunch and 4-H Achievement Days.
Ambassador's Club
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: To assist at ribbon cuttings; business after hours; develop membership drive; add new members. Meets monthly.
GOALS: Develop a membership retention program and maintain membership at 500.
