    We are seeking detailed and driven individuals to join our 2nd shift Sanitation team at our 168,000 square foot cannery in Mitchell, SD! We offer a competitive starting base wage of $19.25/HrPLUS a $1/Hr.     Sanitation (Equipment & Production Floor)
    Safety & Quality Compliance

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Work safely, comply and enforce all company and regulatory safety/environmental policies, practices and procedures

    Perform general cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned

    Disassemble and reassemble equipment parts that require cleaning

    Complete Sanitation as directed by Daily, Weekly and Monthly schedules.

    Work with standard cleaning and sanitation chemicals

    Document task completion status in sanitation log

    Sweep, mop and sanitize warehouse and production floors

    Wash and sanitize equipment parts, carts, bins, barrels, utensils etc.

    Empty production trash bins and vacuums

    Operate floor scrubbing equipment

    Participate in weekly and monthly deep cleaning activities

    Keep QA Manager informed of any issues that arise

    Train and assist in other departments or throughout facility to provide additional coverage, as needed

    Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferred

    1-3 years’ experience in sanitation in a manufacturing environment; preferably food manufacturing

    Ability to perform tasks independently and make key decisions to assure quality and food safety procedures are met

    High level of attention to detail and surroundings

    Ability to communicate and proficiently maintain accurate records

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb, frequently

    Ability to work day/evening/night shifts/weekends and/or extra hours, as needed

    Ability to tolerate varying environmental conditions; wet, slippery conditions; and confined spaces
