The Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a talented and motivated Tourism Director to oversee our vibrant retail operations of the Corn Palace Gift Shop. As the Tourism Director, you will lead a dedicated team, curate unique products and souvenirs, and ensure our guests take home cherished memories.
 
📍 Location: Mitchell, SD
💼 Job Title: Tourism Director

Key Responsibilities:
✔ Develop and execute retail strategies to achieve sales targets.
✔ Inspire and mentor the retail team to deliver outstanding customer service.
✔ Manage inventory, vendors, and store maintenance for seamless operations.
✔ Develop and implement marketing to create engaging in-store promotions and market Mitchell and the World’s Only Corn Palace.
 
Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
✔ Proven experience in retail management, with a passion for the tourism industry.
✔ Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
✔ Proficiency in retail software and inventory management.
